Reward of Compliance

The Bible says that the mild-tempered will inherit the earth (Psalm 37:11 and Matthew 5:5). The magic wand that allowed Moses to be so successful in his chosen career was meekness. If you want to have good success, you have to be docile, and if you are not, pray for it. Have you ever wondered why God chose Joseph to be the earthly caretaker of our Lord Jesus Christ?

On September 28, 1996, I was serving with Evangelist Gboyega Ajadi at the Iree Polytechnic Bible Student Fellowship, and the Lord served me and asked me the question: The years of Jesus Christ’s formation on earth?

The Lord has revealed many of the qualities in Joseph that deserve this privileged position, some of which I will share with you in this article. In Matthew 1:18-25:

18. Now the birth of Jesus Christ was like this when his mother Mary was married to Joseph, when she was with the child of the Holy Spirit before they were united.

Joseph suddenly discovered that he was pregnant, although he did not know Mary. This means that he does not have a deep close relationship with Mary that could lead to sexual intercourse. He did not know what it was, we know today because we have read it and learned about the life of Christ; but back then, Joseph didn’t know what we know today. He did not know that the child in Mary’s womb was from the Holy Spirit. How many men today can stand it?

19. Then her husband, Joseph, being a just man (the Bible says that Joseph was a just man, mild and cool, and open to sound reasoning) and not willing to make him a public example, thought of pushing him away. specially.

Today some men would be very angry and cut off his head, but as Joseph was thinking about this, an Angel appeared in his dream to warn him. He didn’t seek approval, he just believed, he didn’t despise the dream, he didn’t demand to hear an audible voice or physically see the angel in real life like Samson’s father, Manoah. He only believed in God – it was a simple belief. He did not quote the scriptures that “every word from two or three witnesses is attested.”

How many people are led (through dreams) today, but dismiss the dream as just a thought of their minds. Joseph was obedient to God, no matter whether God spoke through a dream, an audible voice, a tiny heartfelt prophecy, an Angel’s visitation, or some other way, he simply obeyed. He obeyed in a dream the angel that God sent to him – this is meekness. No wonder God chose to use it to nurture and nurture our Lord Jesus Christ in the body.

Joseph acted like God, as the father of the Son of God, he was good enough to teach Jesus some basic things of life (humanity). When Jesus was twelve years old when they went to Jerusalem, Jesus went to the temple ‘to be concerned with my father’s work. For three days they looked for him in grief. When found, Joseph did not raise his hand to beat or stick Jesus, many men today would be so angry that the first thing they would do was slap the boy. It was Mary who spoke and said,

“Son, why did you treat us like this? Look, your father and I sought your grief.” It is not recorded that Joseph never got angry (or became angry), did not overreact to the situation, and was a wise and understanding man. Wisdom is believing in God even when you don’t understand what He is doing, saying or planning. In Luke 2:50 the Bible says:

And they did not understand what (Jesus) said to them.

Joseph may not understand, but he believed in God, yet he did not mistreat Jesus, he loved Jesus as he was – what a father, very much like God Almighty. Likewise, we are not called to understand everything about God or His Word, we are called to believe in Him and His Word, and that is true wisdom. At Mathew 1:25 we read:

And she did not know him until she gave birth to her firstborn son; and named him Jesus.

Yusuf was too disciplined to have sex with Meryem, they lived together, slept in the same house, but he did not. Everyone knows it’s okay to have sex with your pregnant wife, but Joseph didn’t. What kind of award do you think Yusuf will receive? Think of the father of Jesus, he had the responsibility of caring for the Lord, lived an exemplary life, did not get drunk, did not sleep with girls, did not lie, cheated, etc. That is, Jesus Christ) could learn from him how to be a good carpenter, ‘he taught God many things in the flesh. Our Lord Jesus Christ protected, Herod took him to Egypt when he sought the Savior’s life. Tenderness is the word that describes the whole of Joseph’s life. If you can show yourself a docile man, heaven and earth will see you and recognize you and reward you with solid success in all your endeavors. If you study your Bible very well, you will realize that Joseph was a very successful carpenter. As Jesus’ fame spread abroad, as recorded at Matthew 13:55, people wondered.

“Isn’t he the carpenter’s son?…”

Joseph was the carpenter of the city, that is, the foremost, the most popular, the most successful. Joseph was so successful with meekness that people followed Jesus to him, why? This was because Joseph was obviously successful, it was impossible not to go unnoticed.

Some people today are so successful that no one remembers or recognizes their fathers because they don’t have successful fathers. Jesus’ father was a successful father because of his meekness, be meek. A docile man is too kind to fight, he doesn’t know how to argue, he’s so busy with his purpose that nothing else matters. So because of this ‘weakness’ God Himself has to fight all his battles. A meek man cannot fight: God fights for him. If you could fight and avenge your enemies, God didn’t need to fight for you. Moses did not fight any man who rebelled against him, God did. Even when her older sister Miriam mistreated her, God had to teach her a lesson that you can’t mess with a docile man for seven days. When you see a meek man, be afraid because it is God who is fighting for him. So why not pray for the spirit of meekness now?
